Today, they’re on their way to being fully stabilized. 🔨

Construction Progress:
✅ Interior demolition and full cleanout completed
✅ Roof and deck framing nearing completion
✅ New rear wall construction

Another 5 houses that are becoming new homes.
Another distressed block that is months away from becoming whole.
Another Baltimore neighborhood that is changing its own story.

20 Years of Transformation: ReBUILD Metro Blocks B 20 Years of Transformation: ReBUILD Metro Blocks Before & After

From blighted to revitalized, this video highlights the powerful before-and-after transformation of homes across communities of East Baltimore—and the strength these homes bring to these communities.

Over the past 20 years, we’ve revitalized more than 600 homes and removed over 1,000 blighted properties—helping create safer, stronger communities without displacement.

The rehab of this rowhouse on the 1000 block of Ea The rehab of this rowhouse on the 1000 block of East Biddle will come with a major challenge — a massive tree growing through the center of the home! Before we rebuild, our team will have to carefully remove the tree, which has also extended over a neighboring homeowner’s roof. Protecting surrounding properties and preparing the site safely is a vital first step in the revitalization process.

We’ll be starting redevelopment of the abandoned houses on this block later this year. Stay tuned for when we begin transforming this property from blight to a brand-new home. 🔨

As ReBUILD Metro celebrate 20 years of impact—revitalizing more than 600 homes and eliminating over 1,000 blighted properties—we’re looking back at where it all began.

In this @wbaltv11 story from two decades ago, we were just getting started, but the vision, passion, and commitment shown then continue to shape our work today.
The challenges were severe—but the belief in community transformation was stronger.

That same vision still drives us forward:
• Revitalizing communities
• Creating opportunity
• Redevelopment without displacement
Take a look at how it started. It’s incredible to think about how far we’ve come by working together—year by year and block by block.
