2025 was a year of transformative change in East B 2025 was a year of transformative change in East Baltimore, but our work continues until every block in the 50-square-block area from Penn Station to Johns Hopkins Medical Center is free of blight and abandoned buildings. As we transition into 2026, we are already back to working day by day and block by block to bring vacancy across this area below 10% by the end of the year.

Over the coming year, we will be sharing progress on a series of projects designed to create lasting change for both new and legacy East Baltimore families.

✳️ 40+ vacant properties under redevelopment
✳️ 20+ new homeownership opportunities
✳️ 40,000 square feet of new community park space
✳️ Construction at The Machine Works (45,000 square feet of light manufacturing space)
✳️ Home repairs for more legacy homeowners
✳️ New community-led public art and placemaking projects

⬆️ All leading to safer and healthier communities where everyone can thrive.

🤝🏼 As always, ReBUILD’s work is driven by the communities we serve, and we remain 100% committed to redevelopment without displacement.

We’re honored to be one of six community developer We’re honored to be one of six community developers selected for the first round of Baltimore DHCD’s groundbreaking City-Wide Affordable Housing TIF initiative. These funds will help us advance our "whole blocks" revitalization work in East Baltimore as we join partners across the city in restoring more vacant houses into new homes.

Thank you to @mayorbmscott and the @bmoredhcd team for supporting our efforts to eliminate vacancy and build thriving communities.
