On Thursday, October 21, we celebrated nature and community—past, present, and future—at the new Robert and Alice Stokes Triangle Park at East Preston and North Gay Streets in Broadway East. The park honors the parents of Councilman Robert Stokes and other legacy families of the 1700 block of East Preston Street while providing a beautiful and sustainable new space for current residents to gather and build community, including families living in the 70+ formerly abandoned homes we have rebuilt within a block of this site in the past 7 years.
Thank you to the talented people at Arts + Parks for designing and creating this model for what vacant lots in Baltimore can become, and to our partners at New Broadway East Community Association and The 6th Branch for working with us to make this project possible.
