This beautifully renovated home is another example of the continued investment and momentum happening across East Baltimore. Every home sold represents more than a transaction. It’s another homeowner putting down roots, another block gaining stability, and another step toward stronger communities.

“I had to weigh how I felt about living next to a “I had to weigh how I felt about living next to a vacant…I said that I would invest in my property, and I was confident that with the developers that are working in the area like ReBUILD, it wouldn’t be long before there would be a neighbor joining me.”

Meredith’s confidence is at the heart of “whole blocks” community revitalization. 15 years ago, when over 40% of houses in this area of Oliver and Broadway East were abandoned, buying a home here was a true financial risk, and a safety risk too—one that few people were willing to take. Now that we’ve rebuilt over 200 homes in this area and driven its vacancy rate below 3%, people can buy here with confidence that their home is a good investment—and that they will be happy about living in the community.

We are working to bring that number down to 0%.

1307 North Broadway was one of the last abandoned houses in the area, but now we’ve rebuilt it into a beautiful new home. Like Meredith, we feel so confident that her future neighbor will love owning this home—and living in this growing community of opportunity FOR ALL.

Special thanks to C.L. McCoy Framing Co., our general contractor at 1307 North Broadway, for rebuilding it into such a pristine home, and for being so considerate of the surrounding neighbors during the construction process.
