Last week, BUILD made its first weekly grocery deliveries to 550 at-risk families in East Baltimore, including 110 families in homes built by ReBUILD Metro. Then this week, ReBUILD distributed care packages with masks, hand sanitizer, and information and resources to all 350 of its East Baltimore homes, the first of several distributions of supplies.
Our partnership, which involved a radical change in each of our operations and relied on funding from Johns Hopkins University, will help families avoid food insecurity, preserving the health and wellbeing of these families and their communities as the COVID crisis expands.
