Preston Place, Baltimore, MD

Preston Place is collection of more than 150 new and rehabbed energy efficient, townhomes for rent and for sale in the Oliver Neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland; adjacent to Johns Hopkins Medical Campus and minutes from the Inner Harbor and Baltimore’s Penn Station. The project provides significant affordable housing and first time homeownership opportunities to hardworking Baltimore families and initiates the rebirth of this neighborhood. The project is currently in its third phase of development.

New homes feature modern modular construction within the traditional neighborhood form. Rehabilitated homes utillize local and federal historic tax credit programs to restore their previous grandeur

ReBuild Metro began working with Baltimoreans United in Leadership Development (BUILD), a community organizing network focused on community economic development, leadership and community empowerment, to develop a revitalization plan for Oliver in 2002. Adjacent to the Johns Hopkins Medical Center, Preston Place signals the change that is taking root in this distressed community. ReBuild Metro, a partnership of Reinivestment Fund, BUILD, and Metro-IAF, was created to acquire and develop land and buildings for affordable housing in distressed areas within ReBuild Metro’s footprint.
